Henning Diederichs

I am 63 years young and was born in Bochum. People from there tend to speak their mind without waiting to be asked.
Cycling has always been a matter of course for me as we never had a car when I was young. I have lived in Schwäbisch Gmünd since 1987, been active in the ADFC (German Cyclists Association) since 1991 and since then have been fighting an uphill battle to promote cycling as a means of transport.
The photo is from Constanta on the Black Sea at the end of my Danube tour. Other heroic cycling trips: 1982 from Bochum to Athens and from Haifa in Israel to Eilat. Then five years in a kibbutz. 1987 return journey via Cyprus, Crete, Peloponnese, Greece, Yugoslavia etc... to Bochum.

In between, a true family man with seven children from two wives.
